Rep Power: 216 | Why we should help Eddy Lepp and write a letter of support. Hello there, I have been speaking with those helping Eddy and have sensed the frustration they are getting by the history and controversial nature of Dr. Reverend Eddy Lepp and his unfortunate situation regarding his "medicinal gardens." We must reach out and help Eddy, whether we agree with his principles, methods, or judgement. He is facing serious jail time in what should be his golden years for growing plants. I would be the first to say that I have had my differences with the Reverend over the years and that on many levels we do not see eye to eye. I disagree with most of his rhetoric and think he is silly for tempting fate in the way he did. I will just say once more for the record, "If you are going to plant tens of thousands of cannabis plants on your property do not do a three page High Times article bearing the ins and outs of your entire operation three months BEFORE harvest." But hindsight is 20/20 and I am surely not the one to cast the first stone on medical cannabis ethics, as I also have learned a lesson of my own. We learn from our mistakes and I trust that somewhere Eddy understands that he has made some poor decisions along the way. That is not for me to judge. The following are simple reasons I am reaching out asking for community support for Eddy Lepp in his time of need: 1. Eddy has balls the size of Jeep tires. Yes. He may seem over the top but his courage to follow the road less traveled is commendable. 2. Eddy helps people. He is good natured in most of his dealings with the world and is inspiring to those who buy into his ideas. 3. Eddy is a pioneer. he was the first to bring a Prop. 215 case to trial in state court and he won. Groundbreaking. 4. Eddy is a snazzy dresser. Who doesn't love pajama pants and a straw fedora. panama Jack meets MC hammer. 5. Eddy is a dreamer. He sees the world as a canvass and paints the picture as he wants to see it, for better or for worse. 6. Eddy rolls good joints. I saw him win the contest at Wonders the first year. 7. Eddy is smart (usually). Say what you want about the man but he is a good study and interesting intellectual mind. 8. Eddy gives a shit. He may act passive and aloof at times, but I do know that he does truly care about the people around im and of course the sacred cannabis plant. 9. Eddy throws a rockin' house party. 10. The man tells it like it is (Or at least how he perceives it to be). Yes. I am writing a letter for Eddy because nobody deserves to be in prison for plants. Eddy is who he is and no one is going to teach that old dog new tricks I am sure, but he has good intentions. the loss of his wife and his dealing with that tragedy is a lot for a person to have to go through, while also fighting the government for cannabis. I ask everyone to join me in writing a quick letter in support of Eddy. The addresses to send them to are below: Honorable Judge Patel c/o Michael Hinckley hinckley@stiglichhinckley.com Attorney for Rev. Charles Eddy Lepp Re: Federal Sentencing of Reverend Charles Eddy Lepp OR C/O Clerk's Office U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel, 16th Floor 450 Golden Gate Ave. Clerk's office on 16th Floor San Francisco, CA 94102. I am attaching a character reference outline I used in my case. Please feel free to use it for ideas and structure if you need a hand getting started. Take a minute to make a difference and let the court know that Eddy is not alone. Medical, religious, whatever. this is about locking people up over plants and that is simply unacceptable. Thank you for your time. Character Letter Outline: http://drugsense.org/temp/Char_Ltr_Outline.PDF |
