Rep Power: 133115 | parole and mmj um kay and so my friend has been in a really bad car accident almost lost his leg up to his knee. they had to take the muscles out of his stomache to form his leg over again and tons of pins, since it had been tore off. anyways he's on parole and the reason is not drug related. he's on all kinds of pain meds now just trying to get through the day. the bad thing is he's totally addicted to these meds now and won't do anything without them. he 's not eating either because of the pain medicine, so all he has is a vitamin water and wings it the rest of the day. he wants to get his rec and completely get off the meds. will or can his parole officer send him back to prison for a violation on his drug test. |

Rep Power: 31144 | Re: parole and mmj according to state law a person on parole can get an exemption for MMJ but it must come from the judge. So your friend would need to see the judge to get them to give him an exemption. |

Rep Power: 46 | Re: parole and mmj I have been on parole as well out of Santa Ana and never had an issue, but it was not my controlling case and I never had a dirty. Plus Parole DOES NOT test for marijuana unless your controlling case was for it. I had 2 different agents and did my thing and never gave them hassle and they never did me. I had to show him the law when I first paroled, eight years ago now! Never been back, parole is way more mellow than probation except from a cops point of view, they will treat you like a piece of shit and is no fun. Especially if for drugs since most everyone has used, just some got caught, why are they worse? |

I have dealt with parolees while working as a social worker at an out patient drug rehab. They use to tell me, and please don't take this to the bank and risk your freedom on my word, but the Fed P test really didn't screen for marijuana. Could be a couple reasons, the first that comes to mind is $$$ because I believe it's a different screen and more expensive. The second could be that that's the least of their (the Feds) worries. Keep in mind it's been about 10 years since I was doing this so things could change but that's the way I remember our conversations going. much love zb1 Last edited by zbestwun2001; 06-02-2008 at 03:25 PM.. | |
