Rep Power: 0 | My Case I don't know if it's procedure on these forums to personally post a request for prayers/support, but my co-defendant/boyfriend and I could really use some! Here's a short version of our story. We were cultivating in Northern California for our personal use and decided we wanted to start vending the surplus to dispensaries in the Los Angeles area. We were under the belief that working as cultivators with legal dispensaries would make us a co-op or collective... I understand now it is not like that. My boyfriend and I were driving in Hollywood when I was pulled over for having unregistered plates, although both my plates and tags were brand new and I had my paper work on me because I had been to the DMV a few days prior. Later on in a police report I supposedly made an illegal lane change to elicit being pulled over and searched. They of course found the MMJ on us and the rest is history. Well 2 months later, after having our home raided, robbed and then evicted we took a "no contest" plea, that led to a deal of 180 days, 3 years probation, 30 days of community service. 1 week after sentencing I was released with a ticket to appear in court. 2 months and 1 week after my release my co-defendant/boyfriend's mother posted bail to get him out. Tomorrow we go to court for our preliminary hearing, if you could perhaps say a little prayer, or send your thoughts out to us it would really help! And remember on next years ballot to vote for the Tax Regulate and Control Cannabis Act of 2010. "1. Generate an estimated $1.4 Billion dollars in revenues for California each year through taxes and fees. 2. Prohibit minors under the age of 21 from obtaining and using cannabis by mandating that only adults over the age of 21 have access to cannabis. 3. Save California millions of dollars in costs related to the criminal justice system by repealing all existing criminal penalties related to cannabis. 4. Mandate that all taxes and fees collected as a result of the cannabis regulation be spent on education, healthcare, public works, and the environment. 5. Create new green markets through the sustainable farming of hemp. 6. Make cannabis available for scientific, medical, industrial and research purposes. 7. Permit the State of California to fulfill obligations under the United States Constitution to enact laws concerning health, morals, public welfare and safety. 8. Continue to enforce all laws relating to driving and contributing to the delinquency of a minor." -cited from : http://www.californiacannabisinitiat...t-of-2010.html Butte County Superior Court Physical Address: One Court Street, Oroville, CA 95965-3303 Mailing Address: One Court Street, Oroville, CA 95965-3303 Telephone Number: (530) 532-7002 |

Rep Power: 4825 | Re: My Case More than my thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours. It's sad that when your down people use that as a excuse to come rape your plants and rob your house. Hopefully you learned from this experience that before you transport anything for any reason always do a pre-flight check list " that's what I like to call it " starting with your paper work making sure its in reach and everything is in order and up to date. Next the outside of your vehicle checking all lights, brake lights headlights and do not forget the license plate light too. They have to be able to see the license plate at night. And make sure you've got nothing hanging off your rear view mirror. I know that has saved my ass many of times. Oh and most important is if your rolling with someone make sure you discuss ahead of time you story. Where your going where you came from and all those details. It might sound silly but the first thing the cops do is separate everyone and if the stories don't match up its probable cause. I'm sorry it does you no good now. And of course I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay up and don't let the system get you on a probation violation. Again take the time to get your ducks in order so they have no reason to mess with you. Be a Boy Scout and always be prepared. Good Luck!! |

Rep Power: 8553 | Re: My Case I would sure like to know the details on the Police stop and why it went from a simple traffic violation and grew to a Felony??????? I also wonder why you did not fight your case instead of a plea? Especially if you are a Patient with a Rec. and have some proof of the collective. A Collective is legal by state law... You could win your case with this and recover your Medication.... |

Sorry hope it will at least be a learning experience for all that read the story. So sad for you, wishing you a good outcome. Hope everyone votes positive for us next year. Still confused you coped a plea why are you going to a prelim? |
