Rep Power: 0 | Looking for some info I was ticketed for possession and paraphernalia in E. Colorado and my lawyer is asking for me to get a statement from a toxicologist (reputable, of course) that states that taking a few hits would not impair your driving, but it's expensive and I know it's true, but I don't have the doctorate so it doesn't matter. Is there anything ASA has? I'm also trying to find research related to the non-harmful nature of marijuana. If anyone has anything that they can pass on, even if it's just a link that'd be really helpful. I got ticketed before I got my rec, but I was self-medicating, really. I was aware of the medicinal benefits I was receiving from pot and was planning to get a rec when I returned to CA (I go to school in St. Louis), which I did. It was a little sketchy how it happened and I signed things that weren't well explained to me because the cop got me to panic, but it happened. The DA is thinking about a deferred sentence, but she won't go for it until I give her reasons why having the offense on my record would be detrimental to me and my future. I really think it will (I have big plans, I guess) but I'm unsure how to say what I want to without sounding pretentious but at the same time landing my point. Does anyone know what I could or should say? It's been a little overwhelming and I need all the help I can get, It's been a bad strain on the family trying to pay for this. I am sincerely grateful for any help. Thanks. |
