I've been stopped many times walking down the street. Once while waiting for a bus I was singled out of the waiting crowd...WTF. I refused to show my I.D. and told the cop he was embarrassing me and asked him to leave. Not suggesting it, but he did get the point and finally left. Clinton is right the State card affords the most protection, they can not dismiss an official State document!!

Thank you HH you make some good points, being well educated about your rights is the next most important thing to acting responsibly in public when it comes to marijuana! LEO will react and decide to handle MMJ issues much differently if you are polite but stand your ground respectfully. They know the law too and know it will go to court eventually and they can be held accountable for their actions...that doesn't mean they will be..but that's a whole other discussion. Learn your rights patients of ALL ages! We need to be smart about how we conduct ourselves! It's safer and it will be cheaper in the long run! Remember almost everything an officer does during a stop is at his discretion and your attitude can be the determining factor as to weather he or she is going to be a dick and get you for any and everything or just warn you and let you go.

I was however born in burbank and I do feel very strongly about this case BECAUSE LONG BEFORE I WAS EVER GIVEN THIS TICKET I WAS STOPPED ON A REGULAR BASIS WITH NOTHING ON ME!!!!!. I think I know damn well how fucking unjust the Burbank Police Dept is. I do However greatly appreciate your input and advice. I just want the case dismissed at this point I don't even care about getting the meds back I mean is it really worth it?

Just go to court, show the judge your MMJ recommendation and he will sign your ticket off, you just have to pay the court fee's, u might not get your medication back, but at least you wont have the ticket on your record!

I read this the other day and called the Burbank Police Department. I asked to speak to the watch commander, I spoke with him..

I told him I was calling on behalf of a patient advocacy group and was wondering what there stance was on MMJ, relayed the story of the ticket as well.. He said that there policy is as long as there is still a law on the books that you can be cited for possession of less then an ounce they will enforce that law.. Doesnt matter that laws have changed since then..

So two things, Clinton is right get the State issued I.D. they have to honor that..Second we need to urge the Attorney General to make it clear to the Police departments how to handle us (Patients, Collectives, and Co-ops)... Its pretty sad that they can pick and choose what laws to enforce and obey!!

Sue the police department for violating your rights and sue them to get your Meds.. As well as time lost for having to go to court for obeying the law!!

Ok so I get to court and I am told that I need to go upstairs, I am thankful I did. So I get there My name gets called I choose to represent myself. I go to the judge he asks me if I have a valid doctors recommendation, I say yes. He then asks the prosecution if they wanted to charge me with it. He says people choose to dismiss!!!!. I walk home and I am now Medicating :) YES!!!!. Now time to get my meds back!.
