COURT SUPPORT NEEDED FOR BRYN ANDERSON AND PAUL SHAW

Bryn Anderson and Paul Shaw were placed on probation after a trial court refused to consider any evidence that they were patients or that their grow was a medical cannabis garden.

The two men were swept up in a dawn raid and are now in jail awaiting a probation revocation hearing.

The same judge who refused to consider evidence that they were patients and that their garden was a medical one, will now be deciding whether or not to revoke their probation and send them to state prison.

Please come out and support Bryn and Paul.

Jails are too crowded to house the rapists, murderers & pedophiles for the full term of their guilty conviction, but these poor patients are going away for 3 friggin years ?? Fuckin ridiculous !!

That Judge used his personal feelings not the law where is justice? I can only hope the laws will change soon and our brothers and sisters in jail may be returned to society.

Allison Margolin and Stuart Dumas argued valiantly on behalf of Paul Shaw and Bryn Anderson during their probation revocation hearing today.

Numerous witnesses testified, including a Catholic priest Bryn had been doing community service for, the program administrator for the National Institute of Court Qualified Cannabis Experts where Bryn is a student, and family members.

Probation officers recommended time served, but it was for naught. Both men were sentenced to three years in state prison.

However, later that afternoon Allison received a call from the court informing her that the judge had thought the matter over and had decided to bring all parties back tomorrow to adjust the sentencing down. This is an astonishing turn of events, no one I've talked to has ever heard of this happening before.

We do not know at this time what the revised sentence will be, but this promises to be drama worthy of a Hollywood movie. Join us if you can.

UPDATE: The Judge cut their sentences down to two years which when calculated comes out to about one year however with the Govenator release non-violent prisoners in the very near future Bryn's Appeals Attorney said that when that starts she will petition for their early release. Keep the pryers and positive vibes flowing folks.

They cut down the sentencing but is still unfair jail time served meanwhile armed robberies are beign let go with probation and a slap on the wrist. This Fuk'n system loves penetrating with no lube.

In an astonishing turn of events, Superior Court Judge Horan summoned all parties back into court the morning after sentencing Bryn Anderson and Paul Shaw to three years.

Citing Bryn's military service, the fact that both gentlemen had never been in trouble before and several other criteria, the judge reduced the sentence from three years to two.

While this still means both men will serve time in prison, it reduces the time significantly. Bryn's appellate attorney, Lynn Moore, calculates the remaining time at six months.

They have already done four months in terrible county jails. Additional relief may come because they are non-violent first offenders and could be included in releases designed to relieve overcrowding.

Bryn and Paul will need lots of help from the community while they are inside. Already people have come forward. Under the coordination of Bryn's mother, friends will be doing everything from raising money for commissary, legal expenses and relocation, as well as helping move Bryn and Paulie's belongings into storage. If you are in a position to help with any of this, please contact me.

Anonymous donors gave money to the Landa Prison Outreach Program after court today and this was put on their books immediately. This money will only last a short while, however.

Bryn and Paulie asked me to especially thank those who wrote, visited, and charged up their commissary. You kept them going during a really dark period of their lives and they are very grateful.

I'm not sure which of you wish to remain anonymous, but to the dispensary operator who came to every court date and pressed money into my hand each time, to the documentary film director who is doing everything he can, to the female activist who dug into her purse the minute she heard they needed commissary, to West Coast Cannabis and the Medical Marijuana Journal who held their deadlines to report on the matter, to attorneys Margolin and Moore, who have foregone payment, they want you all to know how grateful they are and look forward to the day when they can thank you in person.

I would also like to thank GLACA, ASA, Western Caregivers and The National Institute of Court Qualified Cannabis Experts for their help, as well as Weedtracker. All these organizations were present for court support, or participated in publicizing the case.

A special thank you to Don Duncan who was willing to come forward with emergency funds at the 11th hour to pay for an expert witness.

Perhaps the most helpful thing anyone can do right now, is write to Bryn and Paulie. Mail keeps inmates connected to the world, and indicates to the guards and fellow inmates that the prisoner has resources, making him less of a target.
