As you can understand I am not allowed to speak of the case

I don't care about money

I have always just wanted a very simple life.

I live in a one bedroom apartment with 4 dogs and drive

a ten year old car.

Many collectives I have worked with in this area have prolonged peoples lives

with my help.

Now I am asking for people to come and simply witness what occurs at my trial

The justice system is not setup for people's justice.

It's a shame that people like you who are out there trying to help others have to now fight the legal system over it.
Your heart is good and in the right place. I hope and pray that justice will prevail.
I am not sure if I will be able to lend my physical support at your court hearing, but I will definately try. It must be horrible with this all over your head right now. Hang in there and know that there are others out there who are wishing you the very best and then some.

Xeth --- There's a court support forum here you can put this in as well. Also, if you contact Americans for Safe Access they will put a notice in their weekley newsletter about your court date as the time gets near. Thousands of people read this newsletter every week. Be sure and let people know what courtroom you're going to be in.

I have approached ASA many times and begged them to put a notice about it in thier newsletter but they still havent.

I have asked them in person 3 times and have yet to see it.

When I was picked up it took me 8 days to get out so all I did while there was teach everyone how to grow.

I at any given time had two to four people around me with paper and pencil taking notes.

Thats how I will help if sent to jail

I will teach everyone that wants to grow how to grow

Give a man fish he will eat for a day

Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime

When I was in jail I had everyone wanting grow info also , normally hostile people were very nice...got a lot of respect.

I had over 200 plants and agreed to plead guilty for 3 yrs. probation . with a small apartment grow don't be too worried

I'm not sure who at ASA you've contacted, but we'd be happy to include your court dates in our alerts. Just to let everyone know, we don't publicize state cases until they reach jury selection and trial, for the following reasons:

1) There are hundreds of cases going on at any given time.
2) Most state cases are dropped pretty quickly, far before reaching trial.

But if anyone is facing trial for state medical marijuana charges and wants support at the trial, please let us know and we'd be more than happy to publicize.

Also, in general, we don't put any court dates, events, city hearings, etc. in our weekly alert until 2 weeks before the event. Otherwise, the alerts would be far too long and unmanageable.

I'm sorry I didnt mean to sound bad I have the utmost respect for ASA and cant imagine where we would be without you. I did speak with more than one person who is affiliated with ASA about it they were very supportive yet I could tell very overwhelmed. I thought bothering you further with my dilemma
would do no good.

I didn't feel disrespected, but thanks for clarifying.

Now it's my turn to clarify. There are thousands of people who are affiliated with ASA, but most of those are volunteer activists. ASA volunteers are extremely dedicated and motivated, but they're still volunteers. They usually have other jobs and many other responsibilities. So please, if you'd like for ASA to know about something, call or email our office directly because sometimes volunteers forget to pass on info.

I'm new at WT, but have been a long time reader of this forum close to 2-3 years. I have sat in a few of the preliminaries. The detectives are rookies that are overzealous. The DA dropped all charges to cultivation, due to lack of evidence. This was cut and dry non-profit......the times i sat in there was a small number of supporters (valid 215 patients) showing up. A few collective owners, ASA members, and Cannabis collation of IE. They are going to trial in Pomona (rep of not friendly to growers/215..ect.), with Court appointed lawyers (PD's). I feel that they deserve community support.

Meanwhile, state and federal agencies continue to fight what they admit is a losing battle with pot producers.

Despite the effort to curb it, federal estimates show nationwide marijuana production has increased tenfold over the past 25 years, from 2.2 million pounds in 1981 to 22 million pounds in 2006.

Long, the California Department of Justice agent supervisor, admits the government is a long way from taming the problem. The government's Campaign Against Marijuana Planting seized nearly 1.7 million plants in 2006, a record year. Long expects to break that record this year.

"It's not even close to being under control," he said. "It's out of control."

The numbers are ammunition for those who favor legalizing marijuana or an overhaul of current drug policies.

The war on drugs isn't winnable, said Margaret Dooley, acting director of the Southern California Drug Policy Alliance, who contends the problem should be tackled with a public health approach that addresses drug addiction.

"What we've had for many years is a drug war that does more harm than good," Dooley said. "We spend so much on enforcement that addiction is starved for funding."

The grow houses sprouting in neighborhoods not normally targeted by police show that demand for pot is and will remain high, Dooley said.

"There should be some way to regulate and allow a legitimate dispensary," she said. "I would say you can continue to go after these grow houses, but they will change their strategy.

"It's a losing battle."
