im riding my bike without a bike light back from the club since i dont have a car and the lapd harbor division pull me over and tell me im under arrest. they search me and i tell them that my medicine is in my pocket and that i have a recomendation from Alternative Care Clinics which is supposed to be recognized by law enforcement. they tell me that my rec was fake which was absurd because i have an id card with my picture and a number that can verify me 24-7 and i had my original and they totally shut me off and said i have to fight it in court. so they give me a fix it ticket for the bike light and give me a ticket for less than an ounce and they take my meds with no remorse whatsoever. what am i supposed to do about getting my meds back and fighting this ticket because this bullshit that i can walk to store on a busy corner and buy marijuana then two blocks later get my shit jacked from the police even when i got my paperwork. lapd has never taken my pot away until last night, there has to be some loophole in the middle of all this.

most @$$!%^$# in law enforcement dont recognize prop 215 and doctors recomendtations and they will seize your meds and give you a ticket. About almost a year ago I got a ticket for possesion of over a oz and it was a horrible feeling have the CHP take my meds and not recognize my rec. So in no how it feels. im really sorry that happend to you my man. Everything will be ok dont worry. Much Love

i got stopped in san diego on my bike for having no light and happened to have forgot that i had a pipe a small jar on me...needless to say i got charged...i told the police i had a med card and offered to go back to my house to show them(it was 1 block away ) but they didn't want to and with my court date coming up i wanted to see what you guys thought...ive gotten a ticket dismissed in the past for having meds in my car (how do they expect me to get it from the coop to my house) but being on my bike i wondered if it was any different. think it'll be dropped? and do med charges eliminate me from being able to use meds in the future?

same shit happened to me, in the alley behind my house. i had about half a gram on me. he searched my car. my rec was in the glove box. he searched me, i had an origional copy of my rec in my wallette and an expried one. still got a posession ticket. bastard cops. i have cort in march.

our doctor recommends that you medicate at home in the privacy of your house,.
so looking for support outside of those guidelines can lead to a citation,.

hopefully the judge can clear it up,. good luck,..

someone reported you and they pulled you over placing you under arrest until they found what they was after,.

typical they would pull you over and tell you what your doing wrong,.
2nd just ask for an ID and see if you have any warrants,.
if they smell MMJ they would pursue in questioning,.

this is no reason to place someone under arrest unless they have already broken the law, detaining them until they are free to go,.

I'd be filing false arrest charges against the PD whoever did so,.

this is a growing trend,with the possibility of the DEA MMJ enforcement budget cuts,local and state police will take over the busts and raids, this is taking place in San Diego right now

Yo thats fucked up. but what yoda said was true. I've been pulled over and hae had meds and just kept it really cool with the cops. they didnt bust me, or give me a ticket, they even let me know that I had a failure to appear in court but let me go home to smoke my sweet sweet weed. Guess the cops that pulled you over were just dicks with nothing better to do.

sounds right to me.. the law in my case clearly had nothing to do and i had no light on he pulled me over on my bike...then when he got close he said he smelled it...i hadn't smoked it outside at all it was in my pocket of the sweatshirt i put on when i left my house and totally forgot it was there so i'm sure i didnt smoke outside...they cuffed me and said it was just a precaution and i wasnt under arrest...i told him what i had on me and that i was a patient and my card was in my wallet but my rec was at home 1 block away (i said we could go get it from my car but they werent interested) they then uncuffed me and wrote me a citation...never even gave me the bike light fix-a-ticket just the poss. ticket and took my meds and my pipe.it was like a bowls worth but still...now ive got my court date coming up which sucks

Fix your bike. Show up in court with evidence that its fixed. Have your current recommendation and fight the possession ticket. Call 1-800-420 Laws. They are totally cool.

Maybe its ignorance on my part (or wishful thinking) but when you do go to court, its going to be a city / county court and judge.

Will they have no choice but to throw this BS right out?

If anything I could see you having to pay a fix it ticket for the bike and thats it.

= = = = = => I'd contact ASA, as they know how to get he charges dismissed AND how to get your Meds back from LAPD . . . YOU will need to ask how to do all this from ASA . . . or even Patient I.D. Center might give you info., too! Sure it's a Pain, but worth doing it. Go to court, present your papers (fix its, too) then follow up with filing papers to get your meds back! My 2c here!
