Bryn Anderson and Paul Shaw - Cases Continued till 8/6/09

In a brief and dramatic hearing, Bryn Anderson and Paul Shaw had their cases continued until 8/6/09.

Paul Shaw was a "miss out" which means, for whatever reason, that he failed to appear. The Sheriff's can only bring in so many inmates, it may simply have been a case of overcrowding.

Bryn Anderson did appear, looking thinner and careworn, but hopeful.

All parties had to wait until Bryn's paperwork was located. When we finally thought we would get going, the judge, having conferred with Bryn's trial judge, wanted to continue the matter until August 6th when the trial judge could hear it personally.

This was devastating news. 13 more days in county jail.

Just to make sure Bryn had something to think about (as well as incentive to agree to this) the presiding judge informed Bryn that if he wished to proceed on this day, the judge's decision would be state jail for 16 months.

Bryn chose to remain in jail and take his chances on August 6th.
