As far as potency goes with water hash, I thought it was more to do with the microns on the bag you used than whether you use trim or buds. I thought the best full melts were in the 73 micron bag, if you use a 4 bag kit, it's the 3rd bag. If you use a 3 bag kit like I have, you'll get some great hash in that 73 bag (2nd bag in the kit), but you'll get lots more plant matter since the 1st bag is the work bag . There are 8 bag kits. What a pain in the ass! Still, if you're looking for the purest full melt, I'd say get an 8 bag kit and check out what you find in the 73 bag. That's going to be some serious medicine.
