Rep Power: 192289 | Where the F is Everybody??? Common Guys and Gals, I know it's a bitch to take a day off work, but isn't it amazing, how easy it is to do so, when a day of skiing, or fishing, or Disneyland is available??? How come something like this is not valued with equal importance? Yeah, I saw the movie '300', but in our case, it's gonna take a lot more than a 'small' army. It's strength in numbers, and the sooner they see Hundreds and Thousands protesting, as opposed to a couple of dozen, we might just get somewhere. Where are the hundreds of you, that bitch and complain everytime you read of a new raid? You really have no right to complain if you're not standing up and fighting for your God given rights! I hate getting up on the soap box, and I'm sure there's plenty of you that hate listening to it, but if you want to ever 'truly' have safe access, then get up off of your hineys, and get involved! Take the F'en day off work, and help make this a historical day for the MMJ Movement! I'm sorry for this rant, but it's just so dissapointing to see the small amount of people jumping in and replying to these threads, yet you'll see pages and pages of threads involving a Patients Appreciation Day with Free Goody Bags. Pretty amazing how many can take off work on those days, huh? If we offerred free goody bags at the protest, would more show up??? Ok...Rant off Let the Flaming begin! |

| Re: Where the F is Everybody??? KM i hate to break it to you but only a selected few from this site really give a shit about the MMJ movement. Most trackers only care about deals, prices and drama. Sorry but its the truth. I went to a rally last year held at the van nuys federal building and it was a joke. the turn out was horrible and the LEO's and FED agents were sitting there laughing at us. And they did announcements for weeks on weedtracker telling all patients to attend and rally and still no one showed up. just my .02 |

It is easy to sit at home/work and make a post on WT but it actually requires effort to show up at the rally and protest. Its sad and i wish it would change. |

Rep Power: 20363 | Re: Where the F is Everybody??? It's the new crop of med patients. They want their deals, they want to complain, but they don't want to do anything else. They don't care. They think if their place closes, another one will be down the street... It would seem most of them don't remember having to spend hours trying to find meds before safe access. Why would they? Most of these people here are kids who feel they are 'entitled' to their meds, because they spent $150 on a rec. It's gotten to the point where a bunch of us older protesters for safe access are burnt out and angry. We put ourselves on the line so much for these people who don't appreciate anything we do. Again, we put ourselves out there, only to have people tell us we are not compassionate for not giving them top shelf for $45... So why should we do it? Why do I put my reputation, living, home and everything up to defend people who don't give a crap?? Personally, because I believe that helping one sick person is better than nothing at all... I feel for you Kushmeister. It's like you are just starting to get the feelings that many of us had a few years ago. The sad thing is, it's even worse now than then!! It makes you feel like garbage. It makes you feel like you want to ban all these douchebags from going to clubs! But it won't happen... The best thing we can do, is just keep doing what we are doing, and hope that these whiners get their just desserts... I'm just at the point where newbies show their colors quick, and I just ignore their stupid asses... So, Kushmeister, all I can say is We Are All In This Together. As long as people like you and I do our thing, safe access will be around. Just ignore the average patient and concentrate on what is going to make you feel positive about your community. There are more of us than you think and we are the community! Not them... |

What did they have in the 60's, that we don't have today??? They stood up and fought for what was right....some even died fighting for what they felt right (Kent State, etc). We can't seem to get more than a handful out to an event like this, yet some co-ops draw lines around the block for a 4/20 giveaway. And speaking of co-ops, collectives, dispensaries, or whatever else ya wanna call them... Where are you guys? Except for a tiny handful, I don't see you guys stepping up to the plate either. Hell! It should be a consortium of all you guys leading this charge! Hell, I may be pissing off alot of people today, but fuck it! I'm in an hornery mood (note to Donkey Slut... I said 'hornery', not 'horny'). Maybe it's time to put up or shut up! If ya don't wanna join the fight, then stop the bitching, and just accept continuing DEA raids, LEO's busting you whether you present a vaild rec, or not, and the Feds handing down 100 year sentences to those that furnish the sick and dying the meds they need to live a bit more comfortably. I'm done spewing (*Hears the roar from the crowd) I'll be there on October 6th I pray that several of you concerned Weed Trackers will too.

That thought had crossed my mind as well. Even something as simple as putting up a flyer, or having copies that people could take could really help get the word out.

Rep Power: 15 | One man in a suit and tie with an agenda has more power, more voice then 500 protestors with mega phones yelling "DEA GO AWAY" while smoking on the steps of city hall... its disrespectfull and looked upon as bafoons... imagine showing up to a protest like you were going to court, dressed nice, hoping for the best ,knowing your game plan and not showing up all medicated and then 500 others show up like there going to court with a agenda and then that becomes one powerfull voice that will be heard.. Hiding behind large hats, sunglasses and beards wearing tye dyed shirts, shorts and sandels... no one will ever take you serious... not that I'm saying wearing those items is a bad thing I'm saying it aint your sundays best!!!... show respect get respect thats how it works!... in all aspects of life... put an agenda on the boards of city council show up rehearsed bring supporters not protestors.. show them your dance then win them over... because my friends this "protesting" is not working... just my .2 cents.com |

Rep Power: 937 | Re: Where the F is Everybody??? I would agree most wt'ers dont care enough to rally.definitely the efficacy of protests is muted when no one shows up ,a nd having the prospect of overpaid federal state, county, and municipal l.e.o.s laughing at me would piss me off. I would carpool or commute with some folks, make this a sizable event .it would be nice to get coops or collectives rallying people to protest, even individuals. maybe a discount for your appearance at a rally or a general incentive dispersment in the form of free medication for all ralliers I know I have some homegrown that didn't make my personal cut that I would give away! maybe a rally party for mm patients whatever works works. the palatability of protesting would be better if we turned the streets around the courthouse into what the greatful dead tours parking lot looked like..at least the numbers would hopefully be better. I would love to see my fellow weedtrackers innovate with some great ideas on how to motivate folks to participate in protests. |

I have posted on another thread, that I am offering rides to the protest from the Northridge/Reseda areas or from let's say Van Nuys or Sherman Oaks. I have 3 seat available. I have not heard from 1 person to take me up on the offer.I also ranted on another thread last night about this same issue. COME ON FOLKS. THIS IS OUR TIME and if you can't or won't make it out, then you should just turn in your rec and go back to the black market. If anyone is wants to catch a ride from me, PM me and I will respond. Rock on Kushmeister! |

Rep Power: 62165 | Re: Where the F is Everybody??? Or maybe the compassionate collective that you regular can get involved by you asking them too and provide a ride for not only you but others. It is really not that hard. Convince the collective operator to participate in the "Green Out" and close the shop til around 2-3 oclock and that way all staff and patients can carpool/caravan and even have some fun. Its like a collective roadtrip with a purpose. If I operated a collective out there thats exactly what I would do. I will be doing that here for all in need. Any WCGC Patients needing a ride to the protest be here by 10:00 for bagels, buds and a free ride to the protest. |
