FREE CHARLES LYNCH

ASA is on board for a 10/6 8am court support & 11am Protest. We are looking for VOLUNTEERS to be captains or Co-Captains in their neck of the LA woods.


Regional Captains will be responsible for attending organizational meetings, getting flyers/postcards out in that area, arranging logistics for carpooling, arranging for sign-making parties and letter-writing parties, visiting coops to ask them to be closed on 10/6 and challenging them to send AT LEAST 20 people to the protest, etc.


I'm a WESTSIDE Captain. Anyone else want to help me?

~ North Hills
~ Tarzana, Chadsworth, Encino
~ Malibu
~ Northridge/Reseda
~ Woodland Hills
~ Van Nuys

~ North Hollywood
~ West Hollywood
~ East LA
~ Central LA
~ Long Beach

All these locations are within 30 miles of Downtown LA. Thank you in advance for your support.

This local captain idea is great! I can't be a local captain because I live in Oakland but I will be at the protest and the ASA Headquarters staff are happy to help do outreach from afar. Also, I can generate phone lists for any area in LA if those would be helpful.

As far as Long Beach goes, I can attend as many meetings as I can (which honestly may not be a whole lot), get out flyers and postcards, do my best to attend sign making or letter writing parties, ask the local co-ops (that don't hate me) to show solidarity and close shop on 10/6, cajole people around town to attend the protest, and a few other crafty things too.

But I can't play the official "captain" role, cause my son is my captain and I'm never sure what new challanges he expects me to rise to. He runs a tight ship.

I will gladly assist any Long Beach local as much as I can if they want to put on the captain hat - I'd make a fairly unique and interesting Tennille, I think

Even if you can NOT be there at the Protest. You can send a photo of you with a protest sign. I think Don Duncan is going to get them blown-up and printed, so that you will be represented at the protest.

HELL YES!!! ZebraSmoke and I volunteer to co-captain the East Los group. A powerful area that we will lead to add our strengths to this protest. Yes! We have extensive phone lists for the LA area (I'm talking several thousand phone numbers). Usually, it's best to focus on other outreach - flyers, emails, word of mouth, etc. early on and phone during the couple weeks preceding the protest. Also, if there are people in the Bay Area who want to help out, they can come to the ASA office in Oakland and use our phones here to make calls to LA supporters.

Let's keep discussing this and I'll gladly create some phone lists for you in mid-September.

Now this is exactly what we need folks. I am sure there are others also that are willing to step up and help organize the area that they live. Where ya all at?

After tomorrow's ASA meeting we'll have additional volunteer positions to fill (Day care the day of the event, etc)

I went to the 3 closest coops to Western Caregiver group and asked them to close on 10/6 until 2pm and gave them flyers and educated them about Charles Lynch.

I plan to do coops on the Westside on Sunday too.

I think because the boards have been funky the last few days people haven't seen everything that has been post.

Westside meet n hop on 9/13 at 11am...PM me for meeting location...We will be meeting to organize who will visit which Westside coops and we will be delivering flyers, posters, and talking to cooperative operators.

It has come to my attention that some people from other areas (Other than LA) feel like they are being left out for this protest. Let me say nothing could be furtherest from the truth. I think that we need a captain from the Riverside/san Bernadino area and I nominate lady Knight because she is so darn good at organizing and lives out that way.

May I suggest we get a captain from Orange County,San Diego, and any other area that has pateints willing to make the trip and get others in thier area to do the same. This protest is about States Rights and we want people from all corners to attend and take part.

Kern,Ventura,King,sac,Oakland,SF Bay Area all the way up and down this state should be represented because this effects us all.

Hi(gh) everyone!

Well, I volunteered to be the Northridge/Reseda area captain, and I have spoken to a couple of co-ops, but told them when I get flyers, etc I will bring them in to distribute at the co-ops. I'll hit up NNCC this weekend when they're back. It would be nice to get together with other captains or participants from the valley area to strategize and brainstorm a bit. Maybe a meet and greet, etc. I'm ready!

1 question: Is this only for LA County?

We asking LA locations to close but would also appreciate if dispensaries within 20 miles of downtown (Reseda Blvd, ect) would close also since they have large patient bases and are close enough to attend.


I'm out of town for 2 weeks and will be back in full force. Please stop by and see JOV, we need WT postcards and stickers at Western.

We have flyers you can make copies of and take with you. There is also a flyer design online that HappyJack made, and another that Zebrasmoke made, and I'm trying to get the link to the one ASA made.
