Rep Power: 62164 | Charles Lynch Update Early reports say: Sentencing for Moro Bay Collective Operator Charles Lynch has been postponed until April 30th. The judge seems to be leaning toward the mandatory minimum but decided to postpone due to the shift in Federal Policy from the Obama administration. So it appears that Charles' fate lay's in the hands of our President and his Justice Dept. JOV |

Rep Power: 616 | Re: Charles Lynch Update Sentencing has now been pushed to April 27th. Wu told the government prosecutor that he wants a statement from the DoJ. I agree with Wu on this because the recent 3-18 statement from Holder is very vague and ambiguous. The judge was smiling the court room was packed the setting was not that bad. Charles's Mother and Sister stood up and spoke to the Judge it brought me to tears. The Defense asked for a 4-20 sentencing and the Judge laughingly said no. The judge was made aware that Ed Rosenthal who was there had only gotten a sentence of a single day and that he, Wu had the power to do the same. There is a lot more to it and its no where near over. |

Rep Power: 62164 | Re: Charles Lynch Update As I understand it the judge also mention something to the effect that he would like to hear from those whom he did not hear from during the trial which is a good sign of a compassionate judge. In addition the judge mentioned and allowed for talk regarding Medical Marijuan law and cases. Today I believe is we entered a threwshold and have hope for real change. We have people thinking and talking for a change. That in and of itself is true progress in my humble opinion. JOV |

Rep Power: 5692 | Re: Charles Lynch Update Just an idea - how about one the the US AG? clinton Dear President Obama, I am writing to ask you to intervened in the case of Charles Lynch who ran a state and county legal cooperative to provide medical cannabis in Morro Bay, California. He was convicted late last year and has not yet been sentenced. The Judge has delayed sentencing till April 30. He would not have been raided had your policy regarding MMJ had been in effect. He would not have been convicted. The patients in Morro Bay would still have access to their medicine. I ask you to order mercy in sentencing. Or even pardon him. I ask that you pardon all who were operating a coop or dispensary in all states with medical marijuana laws - who violated no state or local laws. This is sane and compassionate policy. clinton |

Rep Power: 616 | Re: Charles Lynch Update Write the Judge and don't make it a generic letter give it thought . Yesterday Judge George Wu said hes getting a great deal of letters and tries to read all of them, Yet the ones he pays attention to are the ones that arent saying the same thing. Use a colored envelope possibly marked urgent or use a different color pen to address the envelope. Tell your story and explain how the loss of a collective owner would harm you. |
