I just ordered mine from Amazon for a total of $19.60 (includes shipping). It is the softcover one. Thanks Firemonkey for the link.

Gotta love all these wonderful books coming out lately. It is a nice addition to the ones currently on the market. Keep them coming, especially since each day there is another new strain name born.

Both are good, but different.

The Book of Buds series (I, II, and the recently released III) are a collection put together by the seed companies, mostly from Amsterdam.

The Cannabible series is more of Jason King's photo journal for the cannaseur, and is more varied showing MJ in different countries and from different methods of propagation. He tends to like outdoor organically grown Sativas (except for Chem), but also covers Indicas.

I would recommend both for good reading. For pictures, Cannabible is better.

I don't own it but I have read almost all of the big book of Buds 3, I do own 2 though. I think this is the best of Ed's 3 Big Book of Buds series, it seems to have a little of his own opinions in there. I personally perfer Jason King's Cannabible series. Jason King actaully goes out, tries the strain, and reports on the batches he was given. His descriptions of smell and taste are usually more acurate than that in the Big Book of Buds due to the fact that the Big Book of Buds is really just a description of the strain given by each seed company. Although Jason King's books are more biased, in this case I perfer it. I think if you were to grow your own meds the Big Book of Buds may be able to give more info on genetics and flower times, but if simply in seach of the best meds Jason King's opinions can't be beat.

i only own the cannabible vol II and III. i think the books are excellent. i'm currently looking for vol I. i have to give these books a try

In The Big Book of Buds 3 I dont get why they say that Purple Kush is especially popular at the SR-71 dispensary in "Oaksterdam." It says patients there praise this Purple Kush's deep body stone as a treatment for depression. I have been there once and after seeing this I went again and asked if they ever get purple Kush and the guy said "every now and then". I doubt there purple kush is any good when they do get it because every strain I have seen there is garbage that they keep in a binder. I wonder if Ed Rosenthal has even been to this dispensary. Why mention one of the worst dispensarys in Oakland and say purple kush is popular there when its not?

nice ill have to check it out, all i know is one of my favorite co-ops had blue cheese for awhile and hasnt had it since... which sucked because the batch they had was so fucking bomb
