Rep Power: 47841 | An End to Federal Raids or a Continuation of the Bush Doctrine? Last week, the Drug enforcement Administration (DEA) collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to raid Organica, a medical cannabis dispensing collective (dispensary) in Los Angeles. The only excuse provided by authorities was that the dispensary had failed to pay sales tax [...] Read the rest of this article on Americans for Safe Access Website by clicking here. |

Rep Power: 113264 | Re: An End to Federal Raids or a Continuation of the Bush Doctrine? Um, I hate to get all technical on everybody, but the Bush Doctrine has virtually NOTHING to do with MMJ. It's a specific document that pertains to launching preemptive strikes. I realize that this is a largely semantic issue, but it bugs me nonetheless. Remember the Palin/Gibson interview where she demonstrated her complete ignorance as to what the Bush Dotrine actually states? Bottom line- people are confused about politics enough as it is. They don't need stuff like this thread's title to confuse them further. There, I said it. Carry on. |

Rep Power: 60286 | Re: An End to Federal Raids or a Continuation of the Bush Doctrine? My appologies if I sounded like they deserved to be raided. They did not deserve that. I just hope they don't get raided again...I hope all dispenceries don't. How sad...All dispenceries have to keep up with the rules and regulations, though. I know of one co-op that gets a city citation everyday they stay open. I only hope this all stops! It's just not fair to any of us! |

If what you posted is the real truth???? This is a perfect example of no due process... In other words its Invent a complaint and raid with no evidence... Hopefully evidence on the seen will turn up something that can stick in a court of law.. Normal due process which all of us are entitled requires evidence up front and the Judges will decide if there is enough evidence to get a search warrant for a raid or file a complaint and go to court... Then the fight starts on both sides where a Judge or Jury will decide.... Currently state law has dispensed with the due process part on Medical Marijuana Patients and Dispensaries... Its obvious when you read over and over again about these raids and the excuses for them...

Its not just about due process. If it was only for unpaid sales tax, why are the DEA, FBI & LAPD involved? or is this because the IRS is a federal arm and Fed law doesn't recognize CA MMJ laws? If this is the case we actually have a major breech of states rights. There may be a lot more than what appears on the surface here, considering the agencies involved in 1 raid. I'm also rather surprised the Office of Homeland Security wasn't right there too.
