I was there but in all honesty I don't know (other than the above).

Im not intending to be negative, but after the raids and my driving two and half hours I expected more would ready for some serious discusions on the real issue.

One guy walked out after his point was not being heard.

No real stratagy that I heard for a solution.

All very nice people but seemed to be content with doing more of the same.

In no way do I mean to diminish the efforts, im just of the opinion that its just too little to be effective.

To obtain a real value, effort has to be in harmony with the nature of the value obtained.

Free spirits should speak at act like it.

I think we were all kind of blown away and only had 2 hours after the meeting was announced. I know I couldn't make it. Hey, nobody ever accused us of being organized. On the other hand, that is why we are NOT a threat to society.

We don't know what to do, because this is being done at all different levels of enforcement. We can't stop the thing because we don't know who exactly is the head of this "task force".

I just wish they would get their priorities straight and go after rapist, murderers, child molesters (and just for the record) Rich white collars criminals like Ken (got the f*ck away with it) Lay and the Worldcom and Adelphia and Enron criminals. Unfortunately, those guys are probably having secret meetings with Congressmen and presidential advisors right now. Whilst we are rounding up a bunch of sick folks and scaring the sh*t out of them.

This is about FEAR. Are you afraid? The government wants you to be afraid. VERY AFRAID! They control your life. There has never been a time in history when 1984 was so real. I expect them to show up on my doorstep and drag me out with handcuffs in front of my neighbors and friends. That'll show us!

Be afraid. they want your freedom. They want to control everything you do and monitor everypart of your life. Your bank account, your medication, your telephone calls, and all your computer history.

Did you know that all new printers have these yellow dots that show up under a sp[ecial light and each printer has different patterns. They can tell what printer printed a sheet of paper. Oh, but don't tell the New York Times! We wouldn't want to have transparency in our government or anything. We wouldn't want to have a free uncontrolled press. This is always the first thing any government wants to do. Control the flow and content of all information. That is PoliSci 101.

The most important job of any ruler is to stay in power.

Your thoughts?

It's sad to read your post today. Sad because of the lack of action by San Diego are activists.

I am an old school activist. Confrontational and in your face. Life has taught me that the squeaky wheel does get the grease.

Many of today's activists are too PC (politically correct) and afraid of confrontation in my opinion.

Yesterday's raids are proof the government doesn't mind a confrontation with sick people.

Raiding dispensaries is easier and safer for the police than raiding a crack house or illegal gambling operation.

If these raids had happened in LA, I would have been at the meeting and I would have been pissed.

I wish the patients of San Diego the best, but unless you unite in force, and stand as one, the government will continue its centuries old approach of divide and conquer.

Peace

Re: What happened at the meeting?

I apologize if my post made you sad, but I must correct the impression I left you with.

Activist in SD are not guilty of lack of action at all, they have been very active.

My impressions were to convey a philosopical difference in the methods only.

And I could be the one operating from the wrong premise.

My understanding of the issue is that of an infringment on individual freedom not just medical marijuana.

From that understanding I believe in speaking as if this infringment is a crime commited against individuals (an initiation of force) instead of speaking as if these powers that commit this crime have a right to do so if we don't fully comply with some written opinion (political agenda law) state or federal.

Justice demands that there crime be exposed honestly, as in talking straight with one voice of reality to be effective.

Again I apologize for the confussion.

Looking forward to defending freedom with you brothers/sisters.

biggupps.. I feel that are protest was a huge accomplishment. Because of immediate action, such a positive response from the community and the large amount of coverage we recieved from the media, we now have the D.A. along with the SDPD Chief on tape. They spoke on how the raids were only on dispenserys conducting illegal business (selling to non-prescribed patients and selling other drugs // medicine) and that patients with reccomendations can still go about obtaining medicine. Now lets see what bonnie will do..:D
