Hello enthusiastic medical cannabis supporters,

Many of you have called Nancy Pelosi's office over the past several days, due to a rumor that if she received 10,000 calls about medical cannabis, she would hold hearings on the issue.

Today, Pelosi's District Director called ASA to explain that while her office understands the concerns of the community, the promise of holding hearings based on 10,000 calls was never made by Pelosi or anyone in her office. Pelosi's staff appreciates the importance of medical cannabis issues, but they are extremely busy with dozens of pressing national issues.

Pelosi's office regrets that this rumor was ever started and encourages our community to reach out to the entire California congressional delegation to educate them about the continued DEA raids and the need for hearings and federal legislation. Pelosi's staff would also like to remind our community that it is never effective to call a congressional office several times in a day so please be respectful when calling.
