The health department now has 120 days to make the card available which means by November 15th if I have calculated correctly the health department will be taking appointments and issuing the card. |

| Re: how do i go about getting an OC id card? The card costs $75 if you are a medi-care patient and $150 if you are not. You doctor should be able to provide you with more info. |

Medical Marijuana ID Program Public Health Services The County of Orange will begin accepting applications for Medical Marijuana Identification Cards (MMID) in January 2008. By action of the Board of Supervisors, a fee of $150 dollars will be charged for cards issued to qualified patients and their caregivers. By state law, the fee for cards issued to qualified Medi-Cal patients and their caregivers will be one-half of the regular fee, or $75. For general information about the State Medical Marijuana Program, please refer to their website at www.dhs.ca.gov/mmp. Additional information about the identification card application process in the County of Orange will be posted on this site as it becomes available. http://www.ochealthinfo.com/public/mmip.htm |

Rep Power: 28914 | Re: how do i go about getting an OC id card? I'm wondering can anyone explain the reasoning behind why each county must also have a card program if we are all legal with the state? I've heard the "ease of approval" angle, that if stopped by police they will be able to verify and they can't verify doctors rec's. easily enough. Well my doctor has a 24/7/365 verification, what value would this be for me? Will each city also have a required card as well? I mean it seems like double jeopardy here, Is there a clause requiring a per county card system and it's just slow to develop or is there some "revenue building" going on? I guess I should go read up for myself but if anyone has their spiel down, can you let us in on the low down? Everyone have a Good Thursday, For Today its the only one we've got! |
