Rep Power: 556076 | Dearest MMJ patients nationwide, For the past few months WeedTRACKER has been making the effort to expand and reach out to Non-California MMJ states. It hasn't been easy to provide you all the information you need and deserve. Doctors are hard to reach, caregivers too. Safe access for you all isn't even comparable to the type of care we receive here in California. Over the course of my two years working on support I've received countless tragic and sad emails from some of you in other states that are denied the help you need. For example, in Rhode Island it's nearly impossible to get a recommendation- even for Crohn's Disease, cancer of all kinds, and more. Many people have contacted us who are in the last months of their lives and have no way to ease the pain. No one to call or see to get the medication they deserve. So, my question to you all is, how can we help you better? WeedTRACKER has a wealth of caring and dedicated users that do their best to extend a hand to others. Let us know of any updates in your state, any contacts we can email messages to, any representatives you want us to call, any groups/organizations you want us to know about, etc. The various ASA chapters are great at keeping us updated but the more we know, the better we can help you. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look at this. Best, mrt Last edited by MadRiverTurtle; 11-23-2008 at 02:25 PM.. |

WT allows the posting of URL's - so anyone with a domain could announce community meetings etc. In Oregon, we have only patients, caregivers, and growers. Dispensaries, coops, and collectives do no exists in Oregon. It is illegal to exchange MMJ for any consideration. That means MMJ may only be legally GIVEN to another OMMP patient, or is destroyed to keep within legal amounts. This leaves new card holding patients up crap creek, unless they gets help from someone. I developed a website to help fill this void. The rules are NO MONEY or anything for help. I have close to 250 members now and many growers have joined this effort. It blows most people away when a stranger gifts them some of the finest MMJ found anywhere. In spite of the demonizing of MMJ patients and growers as drug pushers, it is rare to see abuse of the OMMP laws. There is a lot of true selfless compassion. I focus upon teaching patients how to be self sufficient. In the process these self sufficient people see that they can help someone else like they were helped. I am proud as a papa the way members help everyone. So far our growth rate in growers, is keeping up with those who have no ability to grow for themselves. The concept is pay it forward, and most do in some capacity. I see patients sharing their personal stash with other patients almost every day. I try to match patients with growers, when they can not self grow. A grower may have four patients registered to him. He may have only one grow address. Only these four patients are legally allowed to pay their share of the grow costs. Those costs are for only power, nutrients, soil, bulbs, misc - however no rent, or labor, or any profit is allowed. Oh yes - the plants and all the MMJ is owned by the patients. Growers get nothing in this system. Most growers are patients. It would be a help if sites like mine could be found in a state resources page - somewhere prominently displayed. My site is Cannabis Compassion. See my signature for link. In places where MMJ can not be sold, my model or something like it is the only legal way to help others. This is working, so I do not see why others could not do what I do in their states. One of the advantages of MMJ is the low cost to grow. Poor people with no medical insurance must turn to cannabis or eat dust. Cannabis has done so much for me and many others I know, I promote compassionate distribution. The poor should not be forgotten. clinton Last edited by clinton; 11-23-2008 at 05:13 PM.. |
