Rep Power: 3159 | Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night last night CSUN PD took my medicine last night after searching my car... i have a recommmendation from Canna-med which on the back of the card it says for officers not to harass nor take medicine from patients. All the officer told me was that they don't accept anything other than state ID cards... Is there anyway to tell an officer my recommendation is as legitimate as a State ID card? i mean there was 24 hour verification on my card. thanks community for your input |

Rep Power: 21270 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night Medicating on campus can be a touchy subject, especially if it's being federally funded. As far as what the CSUN PD said, I've heard of that same statement from other PD before. Usually if you get cited, once you get to court and show them your original recc, they should toss out the charge. It sucks that you have to go through that though. Let us know how it turns out. -lp |

Rep Power: 31144 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night a lot of officers will not usually accept a recommendation due to the probability of fraud. That is what the State ID card is meant for, your exact situation. no State card, you take your chances as to if the cop wants to accept your rec or not, they do not have to and can leave it up to the courts to decide or you can get the state card if it is an option in your area and by pass the hassle. |

Rep Power: 74 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night You are gonna be screwed if its a school feudally funded. I just recently lost my job at Lockheed in Palmdale. I showed them my prescription and they told me that is a feudal plant so they revoked my badges. |

Rep Power: 720 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night CSUN is a state run University, yes they may get some Federal funding but its still a state school. And as such, I would think that they have to respect Prop 215. If you weren't medicating on their property and it was just in your car and you have a valid recommendation, I would approach the administration and make your case for the return of your medicine. If that doesn't help consider contacting ASA, they might be interested in filing a lawsuit. |

Rep Power: 8309 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night my stepbrother just started his freshman year at CSUN. in his registration material was a book on all the rules and general stuff about the campus. there was actually a page about how the school does not recognize mmj and anyone caught with any marijuana is subject to disciplinary action regardless if you have a rec or not. the actual wording of it was hilarious! i'll try to get it and post here. |

Rep Power: 11 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night I can help you out here. I was living in the CSUN dorms, and CSUN PD came and searched my dorm, found a couple grams, wrote me a ticket, and off to court I went. When I went to court, they gave me another date, and on that date, they dismissed it. There you go. They were really rude and sarcastic. One of them was reading my recommendation and was saying, "This is a recommendation, what if I were to recommend you heroin?" And the School board or whatever they were came and said "CSUN has a zero tolerance policy on marijuana even if you have MMJ" but nothing ever happened. The Police also made me gather all the paraphernalia and throw it in the dumpster, but after they left, I went and got it back. Even though this happened on school campus, in the dorms, the courts still dismissed it. Thank god the Judicial system is on the right side. |

Rep Power: 1178 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night wow have none of you never read the health and safety code? it clearly states in the prompt that the state wants you to get a county card from the health deparment. Any other card that you get is a gimmick or another way for a company to make more money. The only card the cops will accept is the STATE CARD issued by the county you live in, verified by an employee of the state. So i recommend anybody who wants to be respected by the cops get a state card. all other cards are a rip off. no cop will appreciate a "medical buyers card" |

Rep Power: 187 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night I spent many years in the CSU system and was able to medicate all throughout with no issues. I feel for you bro and it sucks to get cited but what were you doing to get searched? Were you doing something shady or shady looking? Ive chilled in my truck and medicated before class and the patrol just saw me reading a book or just not smoking and it was coo. I was tripped out one time at a rasta dude smoking a spliff near the quad.....Go Beach! |

Rep Power: 1506 | Alright everybody listen up................................................ ........here it is !!! The Dr. rec. that you have will save you ..............IN COURT !! If you want to be hassle free from any "bad attitude" LEO's than get a State issued DHS card from your county. All other cards are a SCAM !! In LA county it cost $153 for each one and stop bein' paranoid they only want your money ($153) and it ends there !!I have had mine for 6 mos. w/ no probs. If everyone supported the State DHS cards , the state would prosper, the scams of fake cards would stop, and LEO's would probably get tired of hassling patients and start fighting real crime !! GCH |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: Cal State Northridge took my medicine last night This sucks because from what I have seen with people i know and what i am seeing on here is that this type of thing is not really uncommon there. My friend had his medication taken away and eventually got it back from the courts i believe. Its so dumb that the PD feel they have the power to play bully doctor and decide what is and isnt good for a patient. Watchout for Northridge PD as well. They do the same kind of harassment :-/ |
