| Activism=Action: I'm no more better than you I want to make a clarification for everyone's sake. I'm a mmj patient. I don't know everything. I haven't done a ton of activism. I've showed up to one protest outside the federal building. I've made a some of calls. Signed some patients and met with one Senator's office. I'm as new as many of you. Some of you have more experience and knowledge than me. The difference better activists and nonactivist patients is action. Actions can be big or small and can come in many different forms and can even be done with you physical limitations in mind. I'm not some activist guru. I didn't to to Activist college. Nor do I have some god given activist gift. I am a person, like all of you. I find benefit from my medicine and I am not happy about the current state of affairs. Instead of bitching and moaning about EVERYONE not doing anything I'm figuring out what I can do and how I can empower others to do the same. And you can do the same, in your own way, on your own time and even meet fellow trackers. Together we can make a difference, so lets do it. Ask not what you medical marijuana community can do for but ask what you can do for your medical marijuana community. Peace, Love, and Herb! |

Rep Power: 137 | Re: Activism=Action: I'm no more better than you well said, herb. i cant make it to every protest or rally either, but when im able, i do my best to get out there. i have been to a few, and no, it never seems enough, but we ALL have to keep fighting in our own way, or they will take this program from us quicker than a bowl of dried kief burns. i gotta say, tho, that your efforts have motivated me to try and do even more for this community. your passion for this cause DOES inspire people. you arent better than any of us, your a patient just like us all. however, you ARE a substantial catalyst in getting action from alot of WTs. check your posts/threads. you motivate alot of people, encourage alot of people, hell, you enable alot of people like me who arent dumb, but just dont know where to start, or HOW to go about initiating these changes we so desparately need. so please dont sell yourself short. I THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP YOU HAVE GIVEN ME, AND ALL THE OTHER WTs OUT THERE. IF WE ALL DID ONE MORE THING FOR THIS MOVEMENT, IT WOULD MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. you really have inspired me to fight harder for what is right. again, THANK YOU. Z |

Rep Power: 62781 | Herbalicious and zebrasmoke are radical. (not just an 80's adjective). I agree with zebra in that herbalicious has inspired me to be more active in my community, and there are many ways to do so as been mentioned. In these serious times it is good to know that there are like minded activist out there fighting for the same causes of justice, equality, tolerance, etc. I like to think that everything I do, I do to leave a better world for my children. Thanks again Herbalicious, Zebrasmoke, Farmer, weedtracker, and all of the artists/activists who demonstrate in cyberspace and outside the computer trying to make a better world for all of us. |
