Re: medicated dog food?

I've done a lot of research on dogs and MMJ/smoking. Won't hot box the living room if they are in it. There is always a window cracked even in the winter when it's 20 degrees outside.

As far as eating it goes, no way would I ever feed MMJ to a dog, it is not something that is good for them. If you are worried about arthritic pain, get them on pharmaceutical grade 99% pure MSM (you can get it at good pet stores- not PetsMart) and a good anti-inflamitory - cherries are an excellent anti-inflam for dogs - then give them lots of love and you'll never know they have a problem. Learned this from my Great Aunt who rescues Great Danes (kinda cool huh?).

I have had three dogs over my life with horrible arthritis/hip dysplasia.

My 1 1/2 year old Old English Bulldogge's hips are so bad the Vet wanted to do full hip replacement on him when he was 6 months old! I said "No way, he's still growing!" Put him on the above MSM and cherries, now he hurdles anything he can find! After her knee surgery my 6 year old Pitbull started getting aggressive due to pain from arthritis. Again, lot's of MSM, cherries (I use a supplement not the straight fruit), love and - slowly - excersize and again you would never know there is a problem. Rain, sun, snow, morning, night, cold, hot, whatever, does not matter grab her leash and she is ready to go! She is also back to loving every single person/dog/creature - except for bears, squirrels, and snakes, she hates them - she meets!

Did the same thing for my Australian Shepherd (Maxwell Almost Heaven) from 4 years old, till he passed at 15, he was insanely happy and healthy till 3 months before. Ridiculous bad arthritis and hip dysplasia.

The only medicine you should regularly put in a dog's food is MSM, pro-biotics, and Omega oils IMO. Glucosamine and Choindroitin are good too, but MSM is way better in my experience.

Oh, and make sure they have a soft but firm bed/chill out place. A hard floor/concrete/dirt, doesn't do it for an older dog. They deserve some cushioning in their life! But I'm guessing you already do that!
