Re: I Have chronic migranes . why ?

C-2 to T-1 discs are damaged on me, degenerating. C-2 to C-3 was even spun off axis, and I had to have that painfully, manually manipulated back into place, or be paralyzed! I couldn't feel my hands or legs for 24 hours, that was as close as I wanted to be to being a paraplegic, or whatever they call it today.

For me, the blood vessels across my brain will contract while the ones on my neck will expand, thus causing my migraines (typical, chronic ones). I am one of the poor people that gets auras before they hit, either full blown hallucinations, or flashing lights (whether I'm driving or not).

Topamax, the anti-seizure drug prevents the majority of them for me, Imitrex is normally my breakthrough med. Unfortunately, if some jerk shines a Xenon flashlight into my retinas, then I walk into a job the next day full of flourescents - I get migraines for two weeks! Said person was now warned I will own his house if he ever shines another flashlight into my eyes.

Anyway, a Sativa helps me. I like 80/20 usually, or 70/30, because I am in chronic pain, but I MUST be awake during the day! I'm so sick of being stuck in a black hole, it isn't funny, with shades drawn, lights out, iced down from forehead down to top of shoulders! Sativa prevents this from being so severe, and an ER visit like on Monday, arrgh!

Also, visit this site: http://www.migraines.org/treatment/index.html

As for what to avoid: NITRATES! That's all preserved meats, such as sandwich meat. I simply loooove Black Forest ham and Bacon, but not good for me, sniff. I cook everything either fresh, or what I store in the freezer.
