I am not sure about the carbonation being bad for you joints, but the soda is. The salts a nd sugar in the soda do not allow proper hydration of the body. I suggest drinking lots of water, this really helps achy joints. I always have a full water bottle on hand, and since I started this my joints hurt much less. You do not have to totally cut out soda and other sugary drinks, but maybe drink them only once or twice a week. I can almost garuntee that if you start drinking more ater you will feel better. I am not suggesting that water will cure your aches and pains, but I am sure you will be in a little less pain.
i used to be a coca cola junkie! i had a 6-8 can a day habit. i also have arthritis. i have stopped drinking almost all sodas (occasionally a DIET soda 1-2 a week!) and ONE 12 oz coke a week and have switched mostly to water.
My hands hurt less BUT best of all my Gout doesn't flare up nearly as much as it used to. that sugar and sodium will get ya!
