I would like to request your office to outright reject the 4th
Ordinance regarding the council’s stance on Medical Marijuana. The
city must work with patients, medical providers and caregivers to
develop a working policy towards Medical Marijuana.
I am a near senior age, and have a horrible chronic illness, which I
am treated by a MD monthly. He and my other MD’s have agreed that
Medical Marijuana helps me with my condition. I have had a written
recommendation for the past four years and have used marijuana to
successfully treat my condition.
How dare the city council, or the DA, thwart the California law that allows me safe access to my medicine, as had been the case for the past many
years.
Since the medicine works well, and I have had safe access to it, I
am very concerned that I will now have to get my meds from a street
dealer or a related drug cartel to stay well?
I am appalled that the DA has decided to use precious city resources
to close down the source of my medicine. Our city resources are
spread thin and this is a waste of the city’s time and money.
It has been reported that over 5,000 untested rape kits have gone
untested due to the lack of funding in the city. What are the city’s
priorities? What are your priorities in the council?
As a member of the city council, it is your duty to protect and
uphold the laws for the citizens that elected you.
This week, a well-known medical marijuana clinic was virtually
destroyed by the LAPD. Why was this allowed to occur? There must be
a workable plan to allow patients safe access to our medicine. These
smash and dash raids must stop immediately.
It is hereby requested that you help secure the right of the
terminally and chronically ill patients in Los Angeles to obtain
medicine in a safe environment. It is not acceptable for the council
to rush through the 4th Ordinance that will result in numerous
expensive court challenges, and the loss of safe access for
thousands of patients.
Your help in this matter is needed and expected.
With Thanks, |
