The mistake I believe you're making is in implying that we are "losing" our rights. That indicates that we had something to lose.
We've never really had "rights." What's going on now has been going since our government's inception. Google the 1798 Alien and Sedition Act and you'll see what I mean. A mere 7 years after declaring "Congress shall make no law...abridging the Free of Speech" Congress made a law abridging the Freedom of Speech. Makes your brain hurt, don't it.
