Sometimes ya' gotta risk blowing up the moon and throwing off the tides, etc. to find a place to land equipment and personnel. There's gotta be something up there to mine for? Plus if we claim it and colonize it, we can charge the rest of the world licensing fees on gravity, tides, full moons, harvest moons, pictures of the moon, moonscapes..... the list goes on and on.
